09 IMPROVING HEALTHY FOOD AND DRINK OPTIONS IN SPORTING CLUBS Vicsport worked with VicHealth to support the State Sport and Regional Sport Programs to implement healthier food and drink choices in canteens in clubs. The program featured case studies on how clubs have implemented the Traffic Light System which uses green, amber and red to indicate levels of fat and sugar in food and drinks. The case study showed how netball implemented healthy food choices in their canteens from elite to club level. HEAT IN SPORT POLICY Vicsport partnered with SRV and the Australian Centre for Research in Injury in Sport and its Prevention to develop and test guidelines and policy templates to assist sporting organisations to manage the safety of participants during hot weather. Organisations involved in the trial were:  Cricket Victoria  Triathlon Victoria  Little Athletics Victoria  Football Federation Victoria  Golf Victoria  Table Tennis Victoria As an outcome of the trial Vicsport created updated guidelines and policy resources and made recommendations to the State Government for broader implementation of heat policies for Victorian sport. HEALTHY AND WELCOMING SPORT In 2011 VicHealth launched two funding programs; the State Sporting Association Participation Program (for SSAs) and the Healthy Sporting Environments Program (for RSAs). These programs were structured to assist sporting organisations to be healthy, welcoming and inclusive. Whilst those programs concluded in 2015, over the past 12 months Vicsport has worked in conjunction with VicHealth to develop resources and content based on research and outcomes from the two programs as part of a broader legacy project following the completion of the State Sport Association Participation Program and Healthy Sport Environments Program. These resources are housed on the Vicsport website.
